Fluid-structure interaction effects on the deformable and pitching plate dynamics in a fluid flow

چکیده

This study presents a numerical investigation of 2D flexible flat plate dynamics, immersed in fluid flow with Reynolds number, based on its chord, 2000. The is animated by forced sinusoidal pitching movement, whose amplitude 10∘ from leading edge. Various materials are considered for the structure, rigid to more ones. Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) effects taken into account using partitioned implicit coupling scheme. Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) formulation Navier-Stokes equations applied and anisotropic diffusion equation solved determine displacements domain mesh. results validated experimental A good agreement obtained. Afterwards, it shown that under dynamics plate, flexibility structure tends increase lift drag but decrease thrust. In addition, this produces an acceleration wake plate.

Fluid-structure interaction studies on marine propeller

Composite propellers offer high damping characteristics and corrosion resistance when compared with metal propellers. But the design of a hybrid composite propeller with the same strength of metal propeller is the critical task. For this purpose, the present paper focusses on fluid-structure interaction analysis of hybrid composite propeller with Carbon/Epoxy, R-Glass/Epoxy and S2-Glass/Epoxy t...
